This patient underwent Robotic Partial Nephrectomy for his kidney cancer at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh. He being 78 years was very apprehensive initially. We motivated him and in the end everything was fine. He was discharged in 5 days and is now back to his routine. He stands completely cured from his cancer and rest of his normal kidney could be preserved using robotic technology.

He is a young man who unfortunately had slippage of his kidney stone in ureter and came with unbearable pain and vomitings. He successfully underwent endoscopic removal of his ureteric stone and was discharged the very next day. However , to his anguish a small stone from his opposite kidney slipped into the other ureter bringing him to emergency again. This time also he was operated uneventully and now both his ureters are clear of stone. He is leading a normal painless life.

This young patient was having a large upper ureteric stone for long and came to know about it when she had to rush to emergency in odd hours of the night. She kept postponing the surgery and delaying the inevitable. Situation became worse when urinary infection due to the stone spread to the blood stream. She came to me at that point. The situation demanded drainage of the kidney with DJ stent in the first sitting followed by clearance of the stone in the second sitting once the blood infection settled. She is now doing absolutely fine and is a perfect example of the fact that early warning signs regarding deterioration in health should never be ignored. Life does give second chance albeit with added price of complications !

The very thought of surgery can be scary in 80 years old gentleman specially in the case when one is on urinary catheter since around 5 months with a very weak urinary bladder and unable to pass urine everytime urinary catheter is removed. Chances of recovery are very bleak in such patients. Such a situation and patient need extremely meticulous diagnosis and approach including a precise surgery to remove the large prostate gland. This patient underwent surgery to remove a huge 100 grams of prostate. Initially the urinary bladder continued to remain weak. However , with time , after having removed the bladder outlet obstruction , the urinary bladder gradually recovered and now the patient is passing urine satisfactorily without a urinary catheter.

This patient came with bleeding in urine. On evaluation, was found to be having enlarged prostate causing significant blockage of the urinary passage. Upon counselling , he was more than convinced and underwent successful TURP. Now post one month after surgery, he is extremely happy with the results and expressing his gratitude for Dr Abhinav Jain
